Opportunities at EAST Seminar
EAST Seminar is the primary professional learning event for EAST Facilitators. This event is designed to inspire and recharge Facilitators, cultivate collaboration, and support ongoing professional growth. We offer a variety of learning experiences that help Facilitators strengthen their programs and expand opportunities for students. Through keynote presentations, interactive workshops, hands-on exploration, and shared examples of success, Facilitators gain practical ideas, valuable connections, and a renewed energy for the year ahead.
General Sessions bring all attendees together for shared experiences that inform, inspire, and celebrate. These sessions serve as a gathering point for important program updates, new initiative rollouts, community-wide announcements, and opportunities to align around the future of EAST. Facilitators may hear from guest speakers, celebrate facilitator milestones and achievements, recognize outstanding contributions to the network, and participate in the traditions and memorable moments that make Seminar a uniquely EAST experience.
Breakout sessions provide focused professional learning on topics relevant to EAST Facilitators and the EAST model. Led by facilitators, partners, industry professionals, and EAST staff, these sessions offer practical strategies, innovative ideas, and actionable insights that facilitators can apply directly within their programs and classrooms.
The Playground is a hands-on learning environment where facilitators can explore new technologies, tools, resources, and creative approaches to student learning. Designed for discovery and experimentation, this interactive space encourages facilitators to learn by doing and uncover new possibilities for their EAST programs, all while connecting with peers and community partners.
EAST Seminar is a required professional learning experience for all EAST facilitators. While in-person attendance is expected, EAST recognizes that extenuating circumstances may occasionally prevent participation. In these cases, eligible facilitators may complete Seminar requirements through the On-Demand experience in accordance with the Extenuating Circumstances Policy.
On-Demand Learning also extends the value of the in-person Seminar experience. Attendees can access select presentations, resources, and supplemental content beyond the three days of training, allowing them to revisit key ideas, explore additional topics, and continue learning long after Seminar concludes.
The Project Gallery showcases outstanding examples of student-driven projects with meaningful community impact from across the EAST network. Through the gallery, facilitators can discover new ideas, celebrate successes, and gain inspiration for creating innovative and impactful learning experiences in their own programs and the community beyond.
